CELINE DOWNING

Passed away peacefully at home on the 17th of August aged 87 years. Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend to many.

The funeral service is to be held at Glynn Valley Crematorium, Bodmin on Monday the 15th of September at 2:30pm. Our deepest condolences to David, Mandy and Katie Downing, Denise Downing and Gary Patterson, Kevin, Joe and Thomas Dickinson, Phil Friel and family.

From all the McGowan family in New Zealand, please know we are thinking of you and sending love on the passing of our cherished Aunty Celine.

Although distance kept us apart — 18,800 km away here in New Zealand — the times we shared with Aunty Celine will always be fondly remembered. We treasure the memories of Aunty Celine, Uncle George, Aunty Sandra and Denise visiting us in 1988, and later David and Mandy in 2019. Those moments gave us a chance to create something special together.

We also grieve with you in the loss of Aunty Celine’s little brother, Shaun McGowan — beloved husband of Aunty Nancy and father to Warren, Steve and Dean — who passed away on 28th August 2025.

May Aunty Celine and Shaun both Rest in Peace.
