In loving memory of Jean agnes Bell who sadly passed away on 10th August 2025

Mum, what can we say, you’ve done amazing in the 29 years you’ve lived alone since dad passed.

You have been such an independent and strong determined force to be reckoned with.

When dementia started to set in, it was a slow progress and unfortunately, as it progressed, we had to make the decision to move you from
Your home to a care home for your own safety but to also have that 24 hour love and care that you so deserved.

Dementia is an awful disease and by setting up this page for dementia Uk, we hope that it will be used to help other families going through this process, to have greater understanding of how and why it happens and how to navigate their individual journeys, as we have done with our beautiful mum.

We love you mum.

With fond and lasting memories of Aunty Jean. She was a understanding, loving and generous Aunt to my sister Carol and I. We thank her for the music we used to dance to in her high heels, the Chinese meal she insisted we tried, the welcome to her home with our small children and lots of stories she told us. Most of all the love she had for her sisters, family and for God. We thank God for her and are so thankful she was part of our lives. Bless you Aunty x

Nana was the absolute rock of our family. She was a force and held us together. Her stories of the war, being a child evacuee and her upbringing in London sparked a passion for History that wouldn’t have ignited without her. Thank you Nana for always letting me listen and ask you questions about your past. I’ll keep those stories alive because whilst you are greatly missed, you surely won’t be forgotten. I hope that you are reunited with your family and say hello to Nanny and Grumpy for me too ♥️ Love you eternally x

Thoughts go out to the family, Jean was an absolute force of a woman, not to be trifled with, although had a funny mischievous side too. She will be missed but not forgotten. Rest in peace with a nice glass of wine.

Jean I met in the 1960's when her family became our extended family. I loved the fact she was down to earth and her love of music I am sure had an influence on my future career. I remember the prefab they lived in, the butchers shop, I stayed with Jean loads of times. Jean went on holiday with us a few times. I was so glad that we were able to see her a couple of months ago we talked about the songs she used to love and "the old days" We all knew the day of her leaving us was coming but it was still a shock but I have some great memories of Jean a very special lady. Our thoughts with Jane and Lynn and the family. To use a cliche Gone but never forgotten
