It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Rob” Hook, who tragically died on the morning of 17th August 2025, aged 56.

Rob was a devoted husband to Lesley, a proud father to Shannon, Tierney and Freddie, and Grampy to Harley. He was also a son to Sue, brother to Wendy, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rob had a love for the outdoors and a gift for fixing things, be it tinkering in his shed, mending something that had broken, or lending a helping hand. He enjoyed watching rugby or Doctor Who with his family, baking cakes and he especially treasured holidays in Spain, spa breaks, and time spent together at home with his family. His happiest moments were those shared with loved ones, as well as the friendships he made through his work at the Garden Centre.

Rob’s kindness and steady presence touched many lives. Though he has gone too soon, he will never be forgotten.

The funeral will be held at St Giles Church, Coldwaltham, on Thursday 28th August at 12 noon. His hearse will leave the family home at 11:40 am for those who wish to accompany him on foot to the church.

In memory of Rob, donations can be made to the Dogs Trust, reflecting his lifelong love of dogs and the many happy times he spent with the family at their shelters.

Rob will always remain in our hearts.
