For My Dad, a True Blue

You wore the scarf of royal blue,
Your heart beat strong, forever true.
Through Ibrox gates, you’d proudly stride,
With Rangers’ spirit by your side.

The songs you sang still linger near,
Your voice, your laughter—I still hear.
Though now you rest, your soul’s still here,
In every chant the crowd makes clear.

From Govan stands to Heaven’s skies,
I see the pride shine in your eyes.
For every goal, I know you cheer,
A guiding light that keeps me near.

So when the Gers walk out to play,
I’ll think of you most every day.
For though this world has lost a man,
He’s Rangers’ greatest lifelong fan.

For My Dad, John Wright Dodds

John Wright Dodds, a Ranger true,
Your heart forever dressed in blue.
Through highs and lows, you’d proudly stand,
A loyal fan, a gentle man.

At Ibrox, where the banners fly,
Your spirit still will never die.
For every cheer, for every song,
Your memory echoes loud and strong.

The Union Bears, the crowd’s sweet roar,
I know you’re with us evermore.
And when the Gers score one, then two,
I’ll smile and say, “That’s Dad, that’s you.”

Though heaven called, you’re never gone,
Your love for Rangers still lives on.
And in my heart, where it belongs,
You march with us, in every song.

Forever True Blue, John Wright Dodds We love you 💙
