Alan Frederick Bye

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alan Frederick Bye, aged 82, on Tuesday, 22nd July 2025 at Hartshead Manor Care Home in Cleckheaton.

Alan was the beloved husband of Andrea, a proud father of Karen, Stephen and Paul, caring stepdad of Darren and Richard, cherished grandfather to five grandsons, an amazing father-in-law, and a much-loved brother. He was deeply admired for his warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family. Alan will be missed more than words can say.

His cremation will take place on Wednesday, 20th August at 2:00 PM at Huddersfield Crematorium, 64 Fixby Road, Huddersfield HD2 2JF

We kindly ask that no flowers be sent. If you wish to honour Alan, please consider making a small donation to Parkinson’s Disease awareness—a cause very close to our hearts. Parkinson’s is a cruel illness, and every contribution helps bring us closer to better treatment and understanding.

Alan’s life touched many, and his memory will continue to do so.

Following the service refreshments will be served at Dewsbury District Golf Club, 2 Sands Lane, Mirfield WF14 8HJ, it would be helpful if you could let us know if you are able to attend.

I served with Alan for 2/3 years when he was Chair of the Pensioners Area Committee. He was always helpful and friendly and easy to work with. I knew him for a long time before when I was in Leeds in the sixties and early seventies.

I am writing this message on behalf of mum as she is unable to do so. Alan was a kind caring brother in law and Imum was lucky to have him as one. She had many lovely memories of holidays spent at Hunters gap as do I. He will be sorely missed by all those all knew him . God bless. Lorraine and Jean xx

London marathon 2016 ? Alan was an "ever present" at the London marathon and provided heaps of support and advice to Debbie as she trained and then ran 15 of them 2003-2019. As fellow Skyrac athletes up until 2014 they raced together often. Thank you Alan
