Utterly loved this man from my time at Connaught Hall, Southampton University, where Mark was vice warden. Funny, loyal and interesting off the scale.

Mark was a warm, supportive a kind-hearted colleague with a wry sense of humour. It was a pleasure working alongside him for the 12 or so years we were in adjacent offices and then later as a colleague in the GMBSC. We will all miss him dearly and it is a shock to have come back from annual leave to hear this very sad news.

Mark was a much loved and dear friend to both myself and my late wife Fiona. I am so, so sorry for your loss Helen. But I am also very grateful for the friendship and support both Mark and you have given me over the years. I shall miss Mark's smile, sense of humour and, most of all, his presence in my life. Lots of love, Stephen

Mark lead his CES team with compassion, care and a sense of humour. I will sorely miss our laughs and his passion for the welfare of others. I strive to be more like him; humble, understanding, open minded & life long learner. I will miss his stories, the hilarious delivery of the time when his running shorts split in the gusset whilst jogging in the common. I copy his motto ‘family must come first’. He’s left an imprint on heart.

So sad to hear of Mark's passing, having known him since his post-graduate days at the University (Boldrewood). As my Line Manager he was always supportive and available for those personal 'work chats'. A kind man with a big smile who will be sadly missed but not forgotten.

I am so sorry to hear this very sad news Helen. Please accept my sincere condolences. Regrettably, I have not had any contact with Mark since our school days at Hove Grammar but he was a great friend - with an excellent sense of fun - and I have many fond memories of him.
