In loving memory of Ian Russell Clarke who sadly passed away on 26th June 2025.

A very much loved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, and good friend to many.

Ian was a funny and fun loving person who loved his food, a good drink or two, music and holidays, but most of all, his family.

He adored his lovely wife, Sheila and his children, Alison, Deborah and Alan; was so loving and proud of his Grandchildren Nikita, Adam, Arianna and Rhea; and loved his 6 (nearly 7) little great grandchildren.

Ian joined the RAF when he was 16 years old and served his Queen and country proudly for 24 years. He served in countries abroad - Yemen (Aden), Germany, Northern Ireland, Cyprus (twice) and many places in the UK. He followed this career of satellite and telecoms with a career in IT working for companies such as Digital, QVC and Sky.

Ian endured some life changing challenges in the last couple of years, but he faced them with incredible positivity, strength and bravery right until the very end. Despite his own difficulties he would always remember to ask after his loved ones and tell them to be safe.

He is already missed so much by his loving family and will always be loved and cherished.

Ian, father in Law, friend. You.
You handed over your beautiful daughter, something that I understand now is hard to do.
You shared your last beer.
You knew more about everything, than anyone I knew.
You allowed me to park my 28 ton fire truck outside your house.
You loved my family as much as I did.
You spoke your mind.
You did the best BBQ.
You were generous with you time
You played great music, loudly, in my opinion how it should be played.

You were you, and I wouldn't change a thing

Cheers Dad

My Darling Dad, my Hero. My heart and soul are broken and I’m lost without you. You gave us so much and loved us unconditionally. You will live on in us, but your absence from our lives leaves a huge void than cannot be filled. Our memories of you will give us comfort and reasons to smile and laugh. We will find our ways forward but we will miss you forever. I love you Dad, you were simply the best ♥️

I feel privileged to have known Ian for only a small, but lasting part of my life. We enlisted into the RAF at Cosford in 1960 together. We subsequently followed each other to RAF Henlow and RAF Prestwick where we spent many happy times. I also stayed at his parents home in Kinson Park Road in Bournemouth. We also met at our RAF 50th Anniversary meet at Skegness in 2010. It was great to see Ian again after so many years. He remained a great friendly and amusing character and l was saddened to hear of his recent fight with serious illness and passing. I extend my sincere condolences to Sheila, Al, Alison, Deborah, Barbara and all who knew him. RIP Ian, you will not be forgotten!

Ian was an amazing man, even though I haven’t known him for very long he welcomed me into the family immediately and we connected instantly. We chatted about everything, music, events of the day, and shared a good bit of banter too. I thought the absolute world of him and I will miss him dearly. Sleep well Ian, love you loads xxx
