FOSTER, IAN (DROOPY) – Died 14TH July 2025. Late of 130 The Glade, Newtownabbey.

Beloved husband of Mary, much loved father of Nicola, Natasha, David and Chloe “bobo”, loving father-in-law of Jonny, Maxi and Chloe-Louise (kids), long friend of Eric, devoted granda of Jack “Jackie Mack”, Tammie-Leigh, Kyle “Kylie Minogue”, Amy “Amy Mackamoo”, Alesha, Kenzie, Tyler, Libby “Libby dodo” and Chelsea and cherished brother of Pat, Joan and partners George and Gary.

Funeral Service to be held from his home (address above) on Friday 25th July at 11.15am and afterwards to Newtownabbey Crematorium for 12pm.

House strictly private, immediate family only.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to the Kevin Bell Trust c/o Stephen McCosh Funeral Directors, 11 Jennings Park, Newtownabbey, BT37 0NB.

Will be sadly missed by his loving family circle. In life he lived for those he loved and those he loved remember.

So so sorry for Mary and entire family circle for the loss of one of the biggest gentleman ive meet Ian (droopy) im just honoured to have got to meet u and ur beautiful family nothing was ever to much always helping someone and the laughs and wee days out with u and Mary ill cherish... My heart breaks for Mary and his family sleep tight big man and give ur family the strength to get threw the hard days ahead. God bless

  • So sorry to hear of the passing of Ian a great friend of my brother Jim also passed they grew up together spend many trips to the cave hill and played in fairhill flute band. Thinking of Mary and family also ains sisters pat and Joan god bless

Droopy was the life and soul of any party..I can't remember an interaction with him which didn't make me chuckle... everybody's big mate...The Glade, our wee estate and the wider community have lost one of life's genuine characters.... My Mum Norma and myself have always been thankful to have Ian and Mary and family for neighbours cause they are such kind hearted people. We will be praying the Lord will keep Mary and family in his loving care.
