Mum spent her life giving, she had such a generous heart. Whether it was volunteering at schools when we were children, baking and serving for local community events such as the Wheelhouse café or local; visiting prisoners at Send Prison, collecting items like stamps for Guide Dogs for the Blind and bras to be sent to Africa, or just giving support to friends and family, Mum was always thinking of others.
With this in mind, we would like to ask that instead of flowers, Mum’s family and friends make a donation to Mum’s favourite charity, the Woking & Sam Beare Hospices and Wellbeing Care who not only took such good care of my sister, Paula in her final days battling cancer but also supported Mum at a very difficult time.
Mum’s Celebration of Life will take place at 2.15pm on Thursday 31st July at St Mary’s Church, Epsom Rd, West Horsley KT24 6AP and you are welcome to join us after the service at Clandon Regis Golf Club. Pleaseconfirm your attendance at the service and the get together. If you are attending please wear bright colours not black.

I am so sorry to have missed saying goodbye to Janet as we were away on holiday. Janet was a dear friend, we had many a good laugh while working together at the Wheelhouse Cafe. She will be sorely missed.

Janet was a beautiful person - and I heartily endorse all the wonderful things she did. My main memory is her running Meeting Point at St Mary's Church, East Horsley when we would have a monthly service, followed by a ploughman's lunch at a long table in the church; a delightful tea in their back garden surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants; lots of interesting and fun outings: to the Chelsea Pensioners and a puppy partners visit in Midhurst? - and best of all a wonderful Christmas party cum service with Bible readings interspersed with wine and carols and crackers and the most amazing food and sweets, and paper hats and lovely Christmas cards - to make sure that everybody that might have been on their own had a wonderful time to remember. I will not forget her and Peter's great kindness. Love and thanks to all the family. - Linda W.

The love of Jesus was certainly shining through Janet's care for others! It was a privilege to know her in these last two years through the church homegroup. We are missing her.

Janet was one of the first people I met when we moved to West Horsley 23 years ago and I couldn't have hoped for a better neighbour and friend. She had a heart of gold and and a wonderful sense of humour to go with it. A truly special person.
