In loving memory of Patricia Joyce Smith who sadly passed away on 25th June 2025.

Born on 22nd April 1929, Pat was a devoted wife to Don, a loving mother to Chris and Graeme, Grand-Mother to Claire, Michael, Simon and Charlotte. More recently, was also a Great Grand-mother to Evelyn, Wilbur, Dawson, Casey and Isabella.

Pat loved her garden and enjoyed making home-made soups with the produce Don grew in their vegetable patch. She spent her afternoons doing a cross-word or reading her books whilst sitting in their bar watching the garden birds.

Pat will be deeply missed by her family and all of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Her funeral will take place 11am on Tuesday 29th July 2025 at Pitsea Crematorium. It will be followed by her wake at The Bread & Cheese Pub, 520 London Road, Benfleet, SS7 1AA.

All who know and loved Pat are welcome to come and celebrate her life with us.

Should you wish to make a donation in Pats name, our chosen charity is the Alzheimer's Society.

Dear Pat. Both you and Don were in my life for over 60 years. You were close family friends and we spent many happy times together with our families. You were like a second mum and dad to me, always, and we shared numerous memories and great conversations, not forgetting some greater laughs.
In particular Pat, you were there for me when I was 18 and very unwell with complex mobility issues. You came to our house several times a week with all your physiotherapist skills and spare mum care to get me walking again. I have never forgotten that.
So, close family friends, very special friends to my parents and I’m proud to say “my friends too”
A lovely life full of caring and fun. Thank you for the contribution you made to mine. Sleep well lovely lady.
All my love
Lynne x x x

Deeply saddened by the loss of my dear Mother in Law Pat. She loved sharing stories of the school we both attended, of her time as a physiotherapist, and loved to discuss the books she had read with me. She was very knowledgeable about the garden and I remember her coming to help cut the knee high grass of our first home - on her hands and knees with a pair of shears rolling the grass back like a carpet!

Pat thank you for being so supportive - Rest in Peace ❤️❤️

My entire childhood. And when my parents died, she said she’d be there for me (and my sisters). After all, she had 2 boys, so we were her daughters! Sorry I can’t be there.
