Rest in peace, our Stoolball Sister.

To the best Hooker of the game! Watching those balls fly over the clubhouse was a sight to see! A score of '69' being your good luck charm. Lilo Lil - the stops and catches on the infield and the many runouts from the precision throw-ins from the outfield. All contributing to the tremendous player you were.

Tournament days, mostly started with an egg sandwich and a pint of milk, followed by a beer once the bar opened, and then you were really at your peak.

These days were where the juniors would learn the ways of the world with some of them being those you coached and mentored. Watching your girls play whilst peering from behind a curtain, the nerves were too much for you to bear but we generally came good. The Cups filled with a celebratory concoction with a run along the optics by way of celebration!

Your legacy lives on in your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and all those that continue playing the sport you loved in your name.

Sleep well until we meet again.

So sorry to hear about Sue. We spent most of our childhood together and still sent cards. I’m away tomorrow but my thoughts will be with you and my memories of when we were much younger will last forever.
