Sorry to hear the sad news about Muriel. I used to sometimes see her on a Tuesday in town when with my friend iris botham-think they were related somehow. I always remember Muriel as a very nice lady-very smartly dressed at all times.

  • Mum loved to go to town , I am only just realising , she didn't go to shop , she enjoyed meeting people who were there.

  • I remember going to town shopping with my mum and having to stop frequently around the market as she spent most of it talking - seemed everyone knew each other. Thanks for your lovely message and thoughts. Andrea Boast

So sorry to read this sad news. Knew "Mewwie Bates" when her parents lived in Uxbridge Street. We lived two doors away. She was a gentle, kind and happy lady. My cousin was one of her bridesmaids. Condolences to you all.
