Brian Barry Phillips Smith (3 Feb 1955 - 5 May 2025)

Barry passed away peacefully in his sleep on 5th May 2025, aged 70 years. Barry's death follows a two-year-long battle with a brain tumour, during which he valiantly faced brain surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy without ever losing hope. Barry cared passionately about making the world a better place, spending much of his time in the natural world, collecting fossils and sketching, as well as volunteering his time to maintain woodlands and the natural landscape. Barry leaves behind a daughter, brother, partner, and many friends, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
