Neil, my friend of 30 years, gone but leaving behind a legacy of laughter, friendship, and happy memories. We first met in the Rose of York- I thought you were bonkers. This was the beginning of many “lock ins” and clubbing nights at the likes of Cagneys - your dancing was always a required taste, but always entertaining. More often than not, you were the one leading me astray on Sunday nights when I had work the next morning. Somehow, you always managed to owe me money by the end of the night, even though I was the one who didn’t want to go to the nightclub in the first place.

You never once made me a cup of tea without stirring it with the milky spoon, even though you knew I hated milk. Somehow, I could always tell, and you’d wonder how I knew….

Thank you for being Gabriel’s godfather. Gabe loved seeing you, especially spending time together at the amusements in Thornwick Bay and at the bandit in the pub (there’s a theme there with Claire Lewis!) You always knew how to make him laugh (and get him into mischief) and inspired his love of darts. Gabe still remembers the time you bet him £10 that he couldn’t hit the bullseye and had to pay up when he did it on the first try. During Covid he was practising like mad so that he could beat you when things got back to normal.

You made me laugh until my sides felt like they’d split, and it’s hard to believe you’re gone now. Though we are heartbroken, we take comfort knowing you are at peace now. We all loved you dearly and will miss you more than words can express.

RIP
Claire , Andrew & Gabe

Certainly. Here's a heartfelt obituary based on your message:

In Loving Memory of Neil

It is with deep sadness that we say farewell to Neil, a beloved friend, a cherished family man, and a true gentleman. Neil was a top man, a great bloke, and someone who touched the lives of many with his kindness, warmth, and unwavering spirit.

I had the privilege of coaching his sons at rugby, and through those moments, I got to know Neil as a friend. He was always supportive, always genuine, and simply a pleasure to be around. Neil and Vicky shared many happy times, often seen enjoying a drink together in the local pubs in Birstall, where their friendship and laughter brightened the room.

Neil was a man of strong beliefs and a loyal companion, especially when he had his beloved dog by his side. His presence was reassuring, his humor infectious, and his generosity unmatched. Neil’s passing is a great loss — gone too soon.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to meet him.

Good night, God bless, Neil. Rest in peace. 🙌

Would you like me to personalize it further or add any specific details?
