Dad,
Tomorrow marks 365 days since you left us, and somehow a whole year has passed without you. It feels impossible to put into words how much you are missed or how deeply your absence is felt every single day.
You were my dad, my hero, my strength, and my safe place. Life has not been the same without you, and the space you left behind is one that can never truly be filled. They say time heals, but no amount of time could ever lessen the love I have for you or the pain of missing you.
This year has gone far too quickly and every day without you has been a challenge. I miss your voice, your guidance, your laughter, and simply knowing you were there. More than anything I miss the moments me, jade, the boys and mum should still be sharing and the memories we were meant to make. The boys are still struggling with you not being here and talk about you often which shows the measure of the man you were.
You were taken far too soon, and not a day goes by that I don’t wish for one more conversation, one more hug, one more moment with you.
Dad your loved beyond words, missed beyond measure, and remembered every single day. You will forever be my hero.
Until we meet again,
All our love always

It is with deep sadness that we remember Gary Hillier, who passed away on 20th May 2025. Gary was born on 31st December 1965 at his grandparents’ home to proud parents Janet and Frank Hillier. He was the middle of three children and, as the only boy, was cherished by his older sister Tracey and younger sister Sarah.
Gary attended Boxgrove School from the age of five to eleven, also importantly during these years he met his lifelong best friend, Les who lived across the street— a bond that remained unbreakable through the years. He later went on to Abbeywood Comprehensive School, and at the age of sixteen, fate introduced him to the love of his life, Jeannette. Four years later, they married and soon welcomed their first son, Alec. 3 and a half years after that, their second son, Jake, completed their beautiful family.
Gary and Jeannette built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. Their family grew even more with the addition of Alec’s wife Jade and Jake’s fiancé Sophie. In January 2017, Gary embraced his proudest role yet — becoming a grandfather, affectionately known as "Grangran," to his first grandchild, Albert. Gary was such a devoted and joyful grandfather that it felt only right that more grandchildren followed: Nellie arrived in June 2020, and Arthur completed the trio in November of the same year.
Gary was never happier than when surrounded by his family and especially his grandchildren. He loved to laugh, joke, and entertain — often playing the class clown and bringing joy to every gathering. His infectious spirit, kind heart, and boundless energy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gary’s memory lives on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the stories shared by friends, and the love that surrounds his family. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
