In loving memory of Margaret 'Daphne' Lockwood who sadly passed away on 10th April 2025.
Daphne was a truly wonderful Mum, Grandma & Great Grandma who absolutely adored her family. She loved to spend time with the 'little ones' who made her smile and giggle, full of love.
After Dad's passing, Mum coped amazingly well on her own for several years, enjoying her life & attending Church and all the associated clubs, as she had done all her life.
She had fought against all the odds after developing type 1 diabetes at the age of 14, a survivor of breast cancer, suffering a heart attack at Dad's bedside just before he passed, having an unknown stroke & then tragically developing dementia and despite her being incredibly frail over the last few years, she was so brave and would not give up until her body finally succumbed. She was not afraid to die and was looking forward to meeting her dear Lord. She would not want us to be sad or in mourning, but to celebrate her wonderful life.
Daphne was a real trooper and her family are so full of pride at her battle to keep going right until the end.
We have so many wonderful memories and during the last few years, Daph thoroughly enjoyed sitting in her sunny conservatory, enjoying her garden of beautiful roses, loving the birds and butterflies and was still absolutely thrilled to see planes coming in and taking off, flying low to and from Southend airport, such was her fascination for sea and air transport, as well as trains.
Daphne will be dearly missed by all her family, friends and Church family, but her memory will live on in our hearts.
