Ruth Syer (19 Nov 1934 - 2 Apr 2025)
Funeral Director
In loving memory of Ruth Syer who sadly passed away on 2nd April 2025
Ruth & John raised 6 children together, Stephen, David, Alan, Daniel, Ellen, Christine.
Grandchildren, Kyla, Cauthen, Penhaligan, Max, Beatrice, Ellis & Kendal, Robert & Paul
Great grandchild Tyon.
Ruth also has a sister Lillian.
Over the years Ruth showed her love for dogs, she supported Guide dogs for the blind.
Ruth made many friends at Church in Canvey Island & also Pip & Jims in Chatham.
For those that knew Ruth would know she didn’t hold back in coming forward, thats what made her Ruth. Feisty, stubborn, determined.
Although Ruth didn’t play a big part in her grandchildren’s lives, she would always ask about them & was apart of family gatherings when able to be.
Ruth was a tough cookie.
At 80years old travelled to Florida to visit her daughter Christine & son in-law Greg.
Very little scared Ruth.
Ruth was a keen reader, very much a bookworm.
It didn’t stop there either, weekly & monthly magazines.
Ruth enjoyed word searches & knitting, often wearing the items she had knitted.
Sadly Ruth had Dementia. She enjoyed 2years living with Son Alan, wife Rachel, son Ben & fur babies Daisy & Freddie.
After having a nasty fall where she broke her hip the difficult decision was made to source residential home where Ruth said she was happy.
Mischief didn’t stop here!
Ruth had a keen eye & preferred the ornament's, artificial plants that were around the home to be in her room haha!
Ruth’s final journey was at the wisdom hospice in Rochester.
Rachel, Alan, Christine held her close, giving kisses & cuddles until Ruth had her Angel wings to be with her love John.
