In loving memory of Sally Amber O'Leary, who sadly passed away on 19th April 2025.
Sally was born early in the morning of 26th July 2003 at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup. She was a quiet, easy baby, healthy with a particularly loving manner.
At the age of 3 she became diabetic (type 1) and there followed a couple of long stays in hospital and a couple of very scary moments. Nevertheless by school age she was again a happy, shy girl, albeit she needed continuous care for her illness - which included insulin injections and blood tests many times a day.
She attended Scotts Park junior school, Bullers Wood school for girls and then Eltham College for her 6th form. Sally went to Brownies and Guides in Bromley for many years. She also did tap and modern dance classes and took part in many shows, including one at Disneyland, Paris.
With 2 A* and A at A Level, she had her choice of University and being her own woman decided not to follow the family habit of Durham and instead chose Bath to study criminology, because it was warmer, but not less hilly. She was so happy there.
Sally had finished all her assignments (including a year's work placement and her dissertation), when she died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home in Bath after feeling a little unwell.
Naturally an introvert, she could and would surprise with sudden bouts of ferocity and loudness especially after a Baileys or seven. She loved clubbing, especially with her siblings, cousin and close friends and also enjoyed beating them at 'Mario Kart'. Sally was a Swiftie and was delighted when she eventually managed to get tickets for the Eras tour at Wembley in August 2024, which she went to with her sister. She also loved Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons and the Killers and had seen them all live a number of times. Sally loved an adrenaline rush - including as far afield as waterslides in Crete and Sun City, zip lines in South Africa and Las Vegas, and rollercoasters and the Big Shot in Vegas.
Kind, loving and brave with a strong work ethic and a steely determination she preferred to take a back seat, but wasn't afraid to voice an opinion or correct an errant parent.
Sally is now gone, we miss her terribly and always will.
