Simon John Chambers
A life filled with laughter, loyalty, and love.
Simon John Chambers was a one-of-a-kind man - witty, original, and full of character. With a sharp sense of humour and a sparkle in his eye, he had a way of making people laugh, lifting the mood, and leaving a lasting impression. His quirky charm, unique sense of style, and unmistakable presence made him unforgettable to all who knew him.
At just 17, Simon began working at Willbond, where he remained ever since, building a long and respected career. He was intelligent, capable, and deeply committed - a steady, trusted figure whose loyalty and work ethic spoke volumes. His colleagues knew him not just as a professional, but as someone whose personality made every day a little brighter.
It was also at 17 that Simon met Alison, the love of his life. The two shared a playful, affectionate relationship that stood the test of time. Even decades later, they could still be seen walking hand in hand - a quiet but powerful reflection of their closeness. Together they raised two children, Luke and Lauren, whom Simon adored and was endlessly proud of. He supported them wholeheartedly, always their biggest champion.
But perhaps no one held quite the same place in his heart as his grandson, Lorcan, who loved his time with Gramps. The two shared a truly special bond. Their time together was full of silliness, warmth, and a deep, natural bond that was both gentle and magical.
Simon had lots of good friends throughout his life, and those friendships held a special place in his heart.
Simon was at his happiest out on the golf course or off on a holiday - whether with family or friends, he loved to relax, explore, and enjoy the moment.
What many may not have known was his gentle, lifelong love of nature and animals - a quiet tenderness that ran deep beneath his fun-loving exterior. He also had a real love for music, whether listening to his favourite songs or stepping up to sing at karaoke.
Simon lived life with originality, humour, and heart. He was full of character, warmth and integrity. He leaves behind not just memories, but a lasting sense of love, laughter, and the kind of individuality that made the world more colourful.
