In loving memory of Paul Harry Sawyer who sadly passed away on 27th March 2025 age 59 years.

Paul was a loving husband, father, brother and son, and in December 2024 he also became a doting grandad. Regardless of the circumstances, putting a smile on our faces was his sole mission and he dedicated everyday of his life to providing for his family and keeping us happy.

Paul was often better-known as 'Fat Bloke' following an almighty career as the Editor of White Dwarf Magazine whilst working at Games Workshop. Since those days, he has co-founded a new wargaming titan in 2007, Warlord Games, alongside good friend John Stallard.

A big rock music enthusiast, you'd often find Paul rocking out to the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica and his favourite, Iron Maiden.

After Paul's diagnosis, the family were inundated with love from fans and friends across the world and we hope that you can find comfort in using this page to remember him. Please feel free to share your favourite memories of Paul, or perhaps light a candle in his memory.

For those who wish to donate in Paul's memory, we have chosen John Eastwood Hospice as the recipient as Paul spent a short time there and was welcomed in like family, receiving nothing but genuine, loving care throughout.

If you plan to join us on the day, please click the ‘attend funeral’ button. There is no strict dress code but rock band and Notts County FC shirts are encouraged.

My deepest condolences to Paul’s family. He was a bigger than life personality in the Warhammer 40K. The Golden Age of White Dwarf magazine was because of Paul. Rest in Peace the Man the Myth the Legend.
