I first met Bob during my teenage years when he was managing the pig farm in Balsall Common. One evening, a few of the pigs managed to get loose, and Bob convinced me to help get them back. His clever idea was for me to shake a bucket of pig feed to grab their attention while he and Stuart did the herding.
The method actually worked quite well. However, as these enormous pigs changed direction and headed straight for me, Bob yelled, "Jump out of the way!" I have to admit, it was terrifying to see those huge animals running towards me, and to Bob and Stuart's great amusement, my panic was quite a spectacle.
Looking back, Bob and Vale have had a significant impact on my adult life. I truly admire their dedication to their family, friends, and the wider local community.
Warmest heartfelt wishes
Laura
