In loving memory of Valerie Sandra Wade who sadly passed away on 19th February 2025

Valerie was born on the 28th September 1961 to Ken and Betty Wade, and became a younger sister to Pamela.
She later became an Aunt to Lucy, Adam and Joseph, and Great Aunt to Lilly-Grace, Chloe and Eleanor. She was very close to her family.
From a young age it became noticeable that she was on the Autism Spectrum and had learning difficulties, and sadly developed Diabetes in her young adult life.
Despite her challenges she was very happy, loving and contented. She enjoyed music, singing, dancing, ball games, basketball and spending time with her family. She loved animals, visiting places and going to church.
After her parents passed away, Valerie went to live firstly at CARE Shangton in Leicestershire, and later at The Orchard Care Home in Hucknall, where she was well liked because of her calm, kind and sweet nature.

Unfortunately, due to the Diabetes, her Kidneys began to fail and other health complications arose. Despite efforts by her medical team, it became clear that Valerie's health wasn't going to improve.
On the 9th February she was taken into hospital with a respiratory infection, which she wasn't able to recover from.

She touched many lives and will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew her.

Val had a gentle heart and a love for all animals, great and small. One of her happiest places was at the local garden centre, where she never missed a chance to feed the fish!

  • Ah lovely. She loved it there. Jackie was very good to her. Always remember her birthday treat she had and the staff meeting and singing to her. 🎶
