Neil was a wonderful friend. My first recollection of Neil is as a smartly-dressed, "dapper" friend of my mother's, when I was a child. Neil quickly became a friend to me, due to his sense of humor and camaraderie. Neil subsequently attended nearly all the important events in my life as an adult after I moved away from Nottingham to go to university. In later years, after we moved to the USA, Mike, my husband, and I visited Neil in Nottingham as often as we could on our visits to the UK. Neil retained his wit and intellect right up until the end. Thanks so much to Chris and David for helping us with these visits, and being such wonderful friends to Neil.

Neil, I will miss you dearly. Thank you for all that you have been to me. Rest in peace, most dearly beloved friend

Neil was a true friend and mentor to me in my student teaching days at fairham along with Mike Byrne. I will always cherish fond memories of scrabble with Neil and Mike drinking a good wine in those days. His visits to my wife Patti and my home were memorable and enjoyable. I have not laid my hands on photos but will continue to look and upload them when found. Extending sympathy to friends and family for the loss of Neil. Neil made this world a better place and will be missed.
