In loving memory of Christopher Smale who sadly passed away on 6th February 2025.

As a much loved husband, father, brother, son, and friend, Chris will be greatly missed.
He didn’t stand a chance against the aggressive cancer which took him from us far too soon.
However he is now pain free and in peace - and will remain with us forever in our hearts.

Chris's main passion in life was running and he competed successfully throughout his life. Starting out on road and track, he later discovered hills and fell running, proving particularly strong uphill.
Latterly he'd taken up cycling as knee injuries plagued his running, and was starting to discover he enjoyed gravel riding and racing.

He was a keen football fan and travelled all over the UK to watch matches. He started out as a Portsmouth supporter, transferring most of his allegiance to Burnley in more recent years.

I didn’t know Chris but saw Shaun’s FB post about his run and thought I just had to throw something in to show support.

I was deeply saddened to hear Chris's passing. Though we lost touch over the years, I will always remember the infuence he had on my life - introducing me to great music, shaping my love of reading, and sharing unforgettable adventures in scouting. His passion and focus left a mark on me, and I am grateful for the time we spent together. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
