In loving memory of Reverend Canon Brian Pearce, who passed away on 14th January.

To many, he was simply known as Brian, but he was a cherished Husband, Dad, Grandad, Brother, and Uncle.

Brian was truly a modest man with a boundless heart. His life was dedicated to serving God and his community, and he would have preferred to shy away from ‘all this fuss.’

Yet, for anyone who had the privilege of meeting him, even just once, the warmth of his spirit would leave a lasting impression that echoed throughout their lives.

He may not have recognised his profound impact on countless individuals, offering empowerment, comfort, inspiration, and love—all in the name of God.

In his final moments, he found the strength to recite the Lord's Prayer with his beloved wife Margaret by his side, highlighting the deep faith they shared throughout their life together.

Throughout his years, Brian devoted his love and time not only to those close to him but also to various charitable causes, always reaching out to help others.

The Pearce family is profoundly grateful to everyone who has supported them during this incredibly challenging time. May we all find comfort in knowing he is now at peace.

Everyone is welcome to a Service of Thanksgiving for Brian on Monday 24th February, 1.30pm at St Thomas The Martyr Church, 7 St Thomas’s Square, Monmouth, NP25 5ES.

Before the Thanksgiving Service on Monday 24th February, Brian’s family would welcome anyone wishing to pay their respects to Brian in person to line the street between the Bridges Centre in Monmouth and St Thomas’s Church at 10.30. The funeral cortège will then proceed from Bridges to St Thomas’s and pause at the church, before the funeral procession proceeds to a private, family ceremony.

Brian was a dear friend and colleague over many years. He was the Chairman of the steering group which set up the Willows Counselling Service in Swindon. He was Chair of the Bishops Advisory Group on Health and Healing and initiated many other services and projects. He is dearly missed and our thoughts and prayers are with Margaret, John, Andrew and family.
