In loving memory of Jean Henderson who sadly passed away on 15th December 2015.

Matthew Hunter donated £100 in memory of Jean

I want to thank everyone who took time out to celebrate my mums life and show support myself and Thadeous and who also wrote kind messages of support.

It is a great comfort to know that we have such special people in our lives who care so much and stand by us at times of need.

My Mum we be looking down and pleased to see her friends, my friends and Thadeous friends paying tribute to her life.

A few words about my Mum,

My mum was a larger than life character who would always light up the room. She would be the life and soul of the party. Anyone who met her will remember her contagious laughter and endless laughing fits.

As a mother she was someone who did everything she could possible do to make sure I had everything I needed growing up.

I remember when I was learning to drive she used to give me secret driving lessons at The County Ground car park after athletics training. We had to keep this secret from my step dad as he would not have approved.

My mum was my number one fan and was always super supportive of everything I did when growing up. Whether it be playing football for my local team or competing in athletics she would always come and watch and be the loudest person on the sidelines shouting encouragement and cheering me on.

My Mum was also a person who worked hard throughout her life, and instilled the traits of hard work, organisation and cleanliness on to me. Even when my mum was struggling with Parkinson's and constantly falling over she still kept cleaning and wouldn't be told to stop. As soon as you would turn your back and she would be on all fours cleaning out cupboards.

She was also someone who never judged anyone, it didn't matter was race, religion, sexuality or wealthiness everyone got treated the same.

I would like to thank her for everything she has done for me and I am gratefully beyond words for her helping me become the person I am today.

I love you Mum always and forever XXX

How I wish I had met up with Jean again after so many years, I have fond memories of her although my time with her was brief. I will never forget the fun we had planning a surprise visit to be reunited with my dad, her then partner John Hunter. Imagine my surprise many years later to discover a brother, Matthew!
Matthew, my heart goes out to you and Thadeous at such a time of sorrow. I love you little brother xxxx.

Matt is one of my dearest friends and to hear of Jeans passing was difficult as i view him as a brother. Living in Australia it is difficult not to be able to be there with him during this time but i know he will have his friends around him. Matt is as strong a person as i have met in my life and i know his mother is so very proud of him and all he has achieved. Although living in London he has always been there for his mom through good and bad. The last few years have been especially hard but with his unconditional love he cared for her and remained a loyal son. i have no doubt that she loved both of her boys to the end and that it was given back in great measure. May she rest in peace and your memories of her be fond and loving. With all our love Conor, Faye and Alexander x

Madeline Crompton Corlett donated in memory of Jean

Jean was my cousin.Born in a small village near the famous Wigan Pier. She was the neice of my late Mother Lily.
After tragically losing her Father James at the tender age of around 2-3 years she moved away with her Mother Doris. Lily and Doris kept in touch and Jean was always tucked away in a special place in my Mother's heart and I promised to keep in touch with Jean which I did.We have had poignant conversations and our Jean was beautiful both inside and out.So very very proud of her two sons Matthew and Thadeus .I am looking at the photos posted and she looks so much like her Crompton family.
Jean was so delighted when my daughter Maia got her black belt in Taekwondo as she also had one with Thadeus.
Remembering you always my dearest Jean.Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Now re-united with her beloved Mother and Father.God Bless you always.
Your loving family in the Isle of Man

I will remember Jean with very fond memories. She always had a twinkle in her eye and a heart of gold. She was a lovely lady and lived for her boys. She was so proud of you both. My thoughts are with you, especially on Wednesday and I'm sorry I can't attend the funeral to pay my respects in person. Rest in peace Jean. Much love, Alex xxx
