On 20th December 2024, Andrew Penfold sadly died after persevering with cancer for some time. He was at home with his family, and we had hoped that he would be with us for longer, but unfortunately we saw a quick decline towards the end of last year.

We will be holding a ceremony to say farewell to Andrew on 14th February at Randalls Park Crematorium, from 1.15pm - all are welcome to come and pay their respects. We would then like to invite you to join us back at the family house after the ceremony, to share memories and a toast to Andrew. If you would like to join us for this, then please let us know.

6 Smoke Lane, Reigate, Surrey RH2 7HJ.

If you would like to send flowers, that is most kind, but we would be very grateful if you'd consider a donation to Maggie's in Andrew's memory, as an alternative. Maggie’s is a charity that provides free expert care and support to cancer patients and their families; during Andrew's treatment we saw first hand the compassionate work they do.

We hope to see you soon, best wishes.

Catherine, Ali and Maddie.

We will miss the dry wit, the incisive writing, the freely given business advice. A great contributor to life and generally good bloke, gone too soon.

Thanks for many happy memories, around the dining table in smoke lane, listening to tunes, eating delicious food and drinking MUCH too much wine xx

Catherine and family,

All the strength and support in the world today.

I still very well remember Andy picking me up from the train station in Egham. "Sure you want to do this and come to England? It can get rainy in autumn". It turned out Suzanne and I (later with the kids) had a brilliant time in England for almost 8 years thanks to Andy's great mentorship. Very thankfull it grew into the friendship over the following 15+ years with frequently working together on projects and the invitations to Reigate. I know how to make an English tea now.

Rust zacht, Andy, en dank voor alles

Andy, you & I set up our company in our mid-20s when we were both starting our respective families. Over the next 30+ years we went through so much together, so many highs and lows, and I really wouldn’t want to have done it with anyone else. The bond is still so strong – I can’t begin to say how much I’ll miss you.
Steve

I extend my deepest condolences and sympathies to the family and all his friends. I had the pleasure of meeting Andrew when he came to the Seychelles with Mike Mundy on a business trip for several days and they stayed at my Establishment (Surfers Self Catering Chalets), which he thoroughly enjoyed especially in the evenings at our restaurant.
I would socialize with both Andrew and Mike there & It was his dream to return again one day with family for a holiday and not business. Sadly this did not happen. From the few days that he stayed I got to know him, Andrew was a nice chap and had a jovial character
May he rest in peace eternally 🙏.
He may be gone but his legacy will live on. He is in a better place now and no more suffering.
From all of us at Surfers and myself
Richard & Family.
Godspeed Andrew and Adieu my friend 🙏
