Kind, gentle, caring, loving, supporting and a good sensor of humour are just a few words that come to mind when I think of Andrew. He joined in many OT groups including the football and swimming groups, it was a pleasure to work with Andrew and to talk to whenever I visited the Beeches. Every conversation was with a smile and a laugh. My sincerest condolences to Andrew’s family and to Chris and all at the Beeches.

I was really struggling with what to write here. Thankfully I read Pilar's post and picked up on something so true... It really was an honour and a privilege to have been a part of Andrew's life. We have such fond memories of him at The Beeches. Despite the fact that he was always sooooo laid back, he was always up for a laugh, which I hope the photos I've shared show just a glimpse of. He had a great sense of humour, and found it incredibly funny when he would say to me 'ooh yes Dad' if I asked him to do something, and tell me I was cheeky when I said he was older than me! A light has truly gone out in the world, and all of us that were lucky enough to have him in our lives will be saddened, but hopefully lifted by the beautiful memories we will always have of him. I'm touched to see how much he was thought of by all who have worked with him and cannot thank them enough for the amazing support they gave. I know his family were so important to him and he loved them very much, just as they loved and supported him always. I am confident that one thing I can say for certain is that Andrew was ALWAYS loved and ALWAYS knew it too. My heart goes out to his family whose lives he was always such a huge part of. Margaret, Charlie, John, and the rest of Andrew's wonderful family, our thoughts are with you. And to Andrew, good night "Mr Bewwy", may you rest in peace.

Andrew loved Christmas and days out and was proud of his accomplishments. He had a great sense of humour, and loved to get you with a snowball or water pistol!!

  • It was always a pleasure to be greeted by Andrew everytime I visited The Beeches, one couldn't miss him! We always had a chat and a laugh and I remember him fondly talking about swimming and football. His smile was infectious and despite having left the community learning disability team a few years ago, I will never forget having known Andrew for over 10 years. It was an honour and a privilege to be a part of his life. My most sincere condolences to his family and those who lived with him and cared about him, especially Chris and the team at The Beeches. I saw Andrew in some difficult times towards the end of his life but I also experienced his fun and lively character. I love the picture I have seen of Andrew with some of his favourite Dad's Army characters. I am sorry for Margaret's loss of her brother Andrew. I knew she was a very caring sister to Andrew and always did her best for him. I am sorry for the loss too for Chris Dives and his staff as they cared for Andrew for so long and I know Andrew meant so much to them.
