Chris sadly passed away after a short but courageous fight with Cancer on the 4th March 2024. She went into hospital with an unrelated condition expecting to be sent home with some medication but a CT Scan led to the devastating diagnosis of Advanced, Aggressive Cancer. The results came with the worst possible diagnosis, it was incurable. Further scans found the cancer had spread elsewhere.

Chris accepted and faced up to her illness with remarkable bravery as she made the most of the time she had left. She was always cheerful and thinking of others and never once complained why she had been singled out in this way. Even with increasing pain, she always ensured she looked her glamorous self at all times. She wasn’t going to let cancer prevent her being the very best she could be.

Chris was the most beautiful, fantastic, charismatic, wife and partner to her husband Tom who is absolutely devastated at her passing. His admiration for his wife knows no bounds. Together they’ve had a fantastic life over thirty-seven and a half years. The outpouring of messages, cards and support from so many family members and a huge circle of friends is testament to the impact Chris had on so many people’s lives. It’s fair to say she was an extremely popular and fun person to be around. Her passing has left a huge gap in all our lives that can never be filled.

My Darling Wife Chris,

I cannot put into words the depth of my loss and the constant pain and sense of loneliness I feel all the time. You were the most wonderful wife and partner who was always there to support and love me as we made our way through life together. It was clear to everyone that you were a beautiful person inside and out who had a tremendous sense of humour coupled with just being a lovely, kind, gregarious and generous person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. I’m at a loss to understand why you were so cruelly taken from me and us all and in such a short space in time. You didn’t deserve what you had to endure both before and whilst in hospital and even though I was there every day with you trying to help you through it, I felt totally helpless as we both knew there was only going to be one outcome. Life will never be the same for me again and there is a huge hole where you should be. I’ll never stop loving you and the wonderful memories we shared will be treasured for ever. I just wish I had the chance to create some more with you. Sleep tight Chris until we meet again.

All my love always,

Tom xx

I remember the first time we met - at our u3a’s wine appreciation meeting. We were newbies to the u3a but you made me and Dave so welcome and our friendship started from then.
Chris, you were beautiful inside and out. Rooms lit up when you walked in, with your beautiful smile and contagious laugh. You were always so glamorous, even when just popping to the local shops, something I’ve never been able to emulate.
Oh, the times we’ve been having a serious conversation that descended into fits of giggles. And how many times did we tell each other we were never going to drink again …. !
Chris, me and Dave miss you so much. Your love for Tom was so strong and we promise we’ll look after him. Rest in peace until we meet again 😇💕🧡💕

My dear friend Chris. I am as lucky to be part of your life. Whilst helping you stay so gorgeous by doing your facials we became firm friends that trusted each other with all our secrets but mainly talked holidays, skincare, gardening and how bad our hangovers were!! I’ll always think of you with such fondness and love ❤️ RIP
