In loving memory of Roy Brian Starling who sadly passed away on 6th March 2024. Roy was a loving and devoted husband to Sylvia, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
Roy and Sylvia were married in 1960, they had three children Ian, Christine and Philip.
Roy was in the RAF from 1957 to 1961 mostly based in Australia, then went on to become an ambulance driver in Basildon and later a lorry driver for Carson office furniture until he retired at the age of 60.
Roy was diagnosed with Myeloma in early 2023 and followed a course of chemotherapy with regular visits to Orsett hospital.
Roy was admitted to Basildon Hospital on Monday 19th February with cellulitis where he deteriorated and sadly passed away with his family at his bedside.
As a family we are grateful for all the comments and kind thoughts that have been sent to us, we ask instead of flowers that you consider a donation to McMillan Cancer Support who showed so much compassion and kindness to Roy and his family during his time in hospital.
