As many of you know, Ray was a Chemist through and through and he spent the majority of his adult life in the Chemical industry. This will likely be how many of you first met Ray. However, Ray had a way of becoming more than a Chemist you knew through work, he had a habbit of making friends everywhere he went, in multiple countries and in multiple languages, no matter how poorly he spoke them. He had a thirst for knowledge that never left him throughout his life.
Ray had contacts and friends all around the world and we know that everybody will not be able to attend in person to celebrate Ray's life with us. For this reason, we have arranged for the service to be streamed. Ray was always known to be wearing a blazer and (sometimes questionable) tie. For this reason, if you have a bright or humourous tie, then please wear it.

I have only just come across notification of Ray's passing. I first met him at Mebon Paints in 1989, where he and I sparred "good and often" in business terms, but got on really well personally with him. He was buying, I was selling. He was a great bloke, good fun, genuine, and one of those people of deep integrity that you rarely meet these days. I was last in touch in 2001, when I left the industry and moved on. RIP Ray, keep them all onside up there!
I am deeply saddened to have just discovered this tribute page for my former manager, Ray Calladine. Having had the privilege of working under his leadership in Saudi Arabia, I carry such fond memories of him. Ray was an incredibly kind, smart, professional, and supportive leader who possessed a wonderful sense of humor. I learned so much from him during our time together, and I will always hold those lessons close.
I don’t have any words to say . What a great lovable human being who cared for every human inside and outside Jana. I had planned to come and visit him next year , looking back and now i should have come and met earlier. I miss a great friend . May his soul rest in peace. My deepest condolences to the bereavedfamily!!

Very sad to hear about Ray's passing . Fond memories of many a robust conversation with Ray. He will always be remembered as extremely articulate, business and politically driven. My condolences to Ray's family .

Ray, you will always be remembered by your interior streght and joy. Thank you for having being part of my life, for your confidence and for your incessant search on solutions. The world lost one of its best but, wherever you are, I'm sure your are making the difference and turning it a better place to receive us one day.

Still can't believe that Ray is no longer with us. I have known Ray since school and we kept in touch about family and work wherever he was in the world. He always put 110% into everything and he touched the hearts of so many people with his knowledge, compassion and humour. RIP dear friend. Love to Jacqui, Michael and family.

My sincere condolences to all Ray’s family. Ray was an old school friend. We were in the same class at juniors and throughout secondary school.. I enjoyed holiday with Ray and I his mum and dad at the chalet in mablethorpe in 1973. He taught me battleships and introduced me to collecting things. My memories of Ray at school were frequently in my mind over the many years since then. He was always one of the good guys to me.
I would have liked to have known him for longer.
