In loving memory of Gwen O'Donnell who sadly passed away on 19th February 2024. Gwen started life in Edinburgh the daughter of Annie & Willie O’Donnell. Gwen was a caring sister to brothers Ger, Brian & Mike.
When Gwen was 10 she moved to Clapham, London and attended Primary & Secondary School here. She loved 60s & 70s fashion and music. She had some great school friends Judy, Linda, Dee, Norma, Angela, Angie and Mary. Some great nights had on the King’s Road dancing & scoffing a chicken in the basket before heading home.
Gwen worked in Streatham in travel and later moved to Sunset Travel for many years working in Stockwell & Croydon.
Gwen loved to travel around the world and did many trips with family too over the years, Brazil,Thailand, Mauritius & Morocco to mention a few.
Always ready for fun and adventures. She spent many years with her beloved mum and visiting families in Scotland. Her family was a big part of her life and she loved to stay in touch and offer advice.
She met Pat in her 20’s and got engaged and then Dave later on, both wonderful caring partners to Gwen.
Gwen spent time when not working visiting car boot sales on many a Sunday all over Kent & London. Lots of lovely afternoons had, eating out with friends and visiting the pub after work on a Friday night. Here she enjoyed a wee tipple of Vodka & Coke or a Gwen as many a bar man called it.
Gwen found many friends in her workmates and neighbours over the years and was always happy to help where she
could. She was the life and soul of the party and we will miss her laugh and her quick wit. Gone too soon. 💜x
