Derek liked many sports, one was watching Saturday afternoon wrestling on the tv. He even went to see it live when the show came to Hucknall. He was one of the first to junp up and shout when the wrestlers got the crowd going.

  • We all remember this so well! He was always so enthusiastic when watching sports...although it did involve a few swear words at times, especially when his beloved Nottingham Forest were losing! ❤

Dad liked to laugh, watching TV...One of his favourites was Tommy Cooper...I'd like to share a Tommy Cooper line, in memory of Dad...

A man went to the Doctor's. The Doctor said "I haven't seen you in a while" and the man replied "Well, I've been ill"

The line makes me smile because, even towards the end of his life, as he was in hospital, he was complaining to the staff because they'd tried to give him a drink of water, instead of a hot drink of tea ...
As he angrily said to the staff member "I don't want bloody cold water chucking all over me!"

I hope the tea's warm in heaven...Rest In Peace, Dad
