Who sadly passed away on 16th December 2023

The Funeral Service will take place
on Monday 8th January 2024
at Southampton Crematorium East Chapel,

Terry was born in Altringham in Cheshire. His family moved to suburbs of Manchester where Terry grew up. As his dad was a seafarer, Terry went to The Royal Hospital School near Ipswich a Naval boarding school for boys before starting an apprenticeship as an electrician with the coal board.
Deciding a career underground was not for him, he enlisted in the Navy, joining the Fleet Air Arm at the age of 17 and a half and working in radio communications. One of his first tours of duty was to the Far East on HMS Bulwark.
On leaving the Navy he continued working for the MOD at Boscombe Down in Wiltshire, before moving to Shaftesbury in Dorset.
Eventually, he moved his family to Southampton Hampshire, worked for a variety of employers as an Electrician before moving to Southampton Docks to work on maintaining the cranes.
He was very involved with The Bitterne Park Social Club, he was on the committee there for many years undertaking a number of roles including that of Treasurer and event’s organiser. He was also creative, responsible for painting some of the Club’s colourful murals for “themed nights”, he was also a woodcarver and a bit of a boffin.
Always up for a good time he was a lot of fun, he will be very missed goodnight Dad, forever in our hearts xxx
