Michael Samuel Staden (14 Nov 1932 - 4 Nov 2023)

In loving memory of Michael Samuel Staden who sadly passed away on 4th November 2023, aged 90 years.

After 7 years of suffering from Dementia dad finally succumbed to this horrible disease and passed away peacefully at the care home he'd been in for the past 4 years.

Dad lived a varied and interesting life, leaving school at 14 he initially worked as an office boy before being called up for National Service where he served for 2 years in Egypt. On his return he worked on the London Barges as a Lighterman before joining the police and marrying Mum. In 1965 mum and dad decided that, rather than work for others, they'd rather work for themselves and took their first pub, The Somerset Arms, in Ashford. They were there for 3 years before taking their final pub, The Green Lion, in Rainham. In later life dad did the odd pub relief work before fully retiring in 1987.
