In loving memory of Terence 'Terry' William Loveless who sadly passed away on 26th September 2023.

Dad, or ‘Tel’ to all of you who knew him, was born on 5th June 1942. He was ahead of his time, and was the best father any child could wish for. He changed our nappies, did his share of housework, made time to play with us, and he always had my back.

He was loving, affectionate, tactile, empathetic and kind to all. He was an interesting man with a host of hobbies, a passion for cars, art, a master carpenter and builder, and a knack of finding humour in the bleakest of situations.

He lived a great life, was a loving husband to Betty, adored her parents, was the best of men, and he had a great death, so there isn’t really anything to feel sad about. A great, quick and painless death is like winning the lottery, and don’t we all want to go like that?

I feel like I lost my dad three years ago, when his combined dementia took him from us, and whilst the man I used to love seeing at St Andrew’s looked and sounded like my dad, he was a different person. He was never afraid of death, and accepted he was 81 and wouldn’t live forever, so he’d hate for any of us to feel sad. That’s why his funeral is going to be a celebration of his life. It’s what he wanted, and I can’t think of a better way to say farewell.

From being old neighbours, to friends. You always had time to chat to me over the fence, helped me fit new blinds when I moved, a true gent with a heart of gold. I’m so grateful you got to meet Ada. You will be missed xxxx

I learnt so much from my Dad. He instilled in me my love of woodwork as well as teaching me all aspects of the print trade and the time we spent working together is just one of so many happy memories I’ll treasure always. I wish I’d inherited his patience! RIP Dad xx

Dear Terry, I’d like to think it’s not ‘goodby’ but ‘Until we meet again’. You’ll forever be in our hearts and memories. You were such a darling man, and I’ll remember you by this little token of the man you were. Thank you for the swing!

Another enjoyable meeting with our good friends. I am guessing this is the steak house in Kinder, LA. Always a good time and lots of laughs with these two. ❤️

This was the occasion of Louie and I meeting our new friends Betty and Terry from Elton, LA via the UK. It was the start of a great friendship lasting for 17+ years now. We became like family, and have many wonderful memories.

What a lovely man so kind and helpful. My husband and Terry both had a Toyota supra car at the same time. I gave Terry a shock one day when I drove past driving it. His face was a picture when he realised it was me driving and not my husband.
