In loving memory of Terry Pearce who sadly passed away on 24th July 2023.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday October 10th at 10.40am at Southend Crematorium, Large Chapel. The directions may be found on this page.

Terry was born in 1937, and married Mary Ainslie on his birthday in Hoddesdon in 1959.
He was the son of Kenneth and Iris Pearce, who owned a garage and engineering company in South Benfleet, and brother to Margaret. He had two children Matthew and Michael and five grandchildren.

Terry studied Mechanical Engineering at University College London.

Together with close friends, Terry was part of the company Panther Craft that built several successful racing and sports catamarans. The Tornado became an Olympic class. The Dart 18, Dart 15, and Spark continue to be very popular boats, with a large fleet at Marconi Yacht Club on the Blackwater, and fleets at many national and international yacht clubs.

In mid-life, Terry became a Christian. He attended Peniel Church (later Trinity Church) in Brentwood. He studied Theology and gained a degree. He attended the Southend Christian Fellowship. He supported tent mission.

He ran a successful engineering firm (Precision Components Manufacturing) in South Benfleet on the site of his childhood home, and a yachting equipment company (International Yacht Equipment).

He was a committed member of the South Benfleet Rotary Association.
He was an active member of the BodyCare gym and social walking group in South Benfleet for 10 years. He climbed Kinder Scout.

Terry and Mary travelled the globe extensively, and was particularly blessed to visit the Grand Canyon with his family, the Great Barrier Reef, the Galápagos Islands, Alhambra Reef, and Alaska.
