In loving memory of Roy Goodchild who sadly passed away on 31st August 2023.
Roy was a devoted husband to Muriel for 67 years and a wonderful father to 3 children Hazel, Cheryl and Ashley and grandad to Jonathan, Rebecca and Matthew.
Roy was always seen riding his cycle right up to turning 80 and always with a smile and a wave to his neighbours. His thirst for anything historical knew no bounds, he particularly loved local history and had previously been a member of the Manshed archaeology group.
In latter years he cared for his beloved wife when she was diagnosed with dementia never complaining always by her side.
He leaves an enormous gap in all of our lives

Grandad lived such a wonderful and adventurous life and was always so generous when my Mom and I would cross the pond to go visit from Florida. I will always remember our hours long phone calls on holidays and birthdays. Talking about every subject under the sun and then some. Will always cherish those moments. Much love!

I write this with a smile on my face remembering fond memories of a lovely man. He was thoughtful caring and always found time for my children Matthew and Nicola when they were growing up. He would welcome us into his home whenever we were visiting as one of his family.
