Dear Friends,

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the funeral arrangements for our beloved Anna, a cherished wife, mum, granny, sister and sister-in-law, as well as a treasured friend to many.

Following a prolonged illness and a brave battle, Anna passed away peacefully on Monday 28th August. Anna's vibrant Christian faith shone through everything she did and was expressed in the love and joy that she poured out throughout her life and will remain in our hearts and those of many others forever.

Date: Thursday, 28th September 2023

The day will begin with a short service of committal at 11 a.m at Calverton Parish Cemetery, Mansfield Lane, Calverton, Nottinghamshire, NG14 6HL.

Friends are invited to join the family at the graveside should they wish to. However, please do bear in mind that parking for the cemetery is on Mansfield Lane and there is no covered area in case of bad weather.

Following the committal, everyone is warmly invited to join us for a service of Thanksgiving at 2 p.m at St. Nics' Church, 79, Maid Marion Way, Nottingham, NG1 6AE.

St. Nics’ is located in Nottingham City Centre and is a 10 min walk from Nottingham Station. The city centre is well served by 7 park and ride tram sites (thetram.net), and there is a multi-story car park (NCP, Maid Marion Way) very close to St. Nics.

After the service we would be delighted to have you join us for light refreshments at the Ned Ludd, 27 Friar Lane, NG1 6DA.
This is just a couple of minutes walk from the church.

As you well know, Anna's life was filled with love, laughter, and countless beautiful moments and we hope this will be an opportunity to join the family and share some of these happy memories together.

We really hope you will be able to join us in person, but we also hope to be able to set up a livestream for those unable to travel.

If you do intend to join us on 28th September, we would be really grateful if you could let us know as soon as possible (but at the latest by 21st September) by confirming your attendance using the tab below.

For those who are travelling from some distance, the most convenient accommodation in this part of the City Centre is the Premier Inn (Chapel Bar), 7, Chapel Quarter, NG1 6JS. Although, there are a range of other options in the area.

We would request that in lieu of flowers, a donation is made to a charity close to Anna's heart, Open Doors. A Just Giving page has been set up in honour of Anna and this can be accessed using the link on this page.

It would also be lovely if you felt able to add any special photographs of Anna and shared your memories of her using the tabs below.

If you have any questions, need further information, or would appreciate a link to the live stream please do not hesitate to reach out to us on mr.ianwood@gmail.com

Your prayers, support and kind words have really helped us as a family during this very difficult time.

With heartfelt gratitude and much love,

The Wood Family

It was a privilege knowing Anna & Malcom. Anna was a lady of class with a charismatic personality. She was excited for our engagement and she arranged for Blairmore to throw us an engagement party, which was really special to us. She will be missed, her charisma, her wisdom, her ministry, her warmth and her sense of style.

I am sorry to hear the loss of your beloved Anna, Malcolm.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family especially today.
I think back of those fond memories of Anna at Blairmore house, the love , generosity, warmth and grandness of hospitality for all the visits for courses or fellowship.
You welcomed us as family and I shall always remember those lovely times of fellowship in the drawing room with yourself Malcolm playing the piano. May the healing we receive be upon you and your family.
Love, blessings & shalom, Siew Ping

I will always remember the times that I had together with Anna, Malcolm & the family over a few Christmas holidays. They are memories that I will always treasure and never forget.

I am very grateful for the stability that Anna(&Malcolm) added into my life during the time that we worked together in the early years at Ellel Grange.

In the more recent years Anna used to always say, “ Hello darling”to me whenever she came to visit the Grange and give me a big hug &that was always so lovely. Anna always made time for me even if she was very busy & in many meetings, Anna always had time for a hug.

I am so happy I have had the pleasure of knowing& being friends with Anna for so many years.
I will miss Anna very much and she will always have a precious place in my heart. She taught me so much about Jesus & the Christian life by her example & for this I will always be grateful.
Bye bye for now Anna, my friend.
I love you!

Lynda

So many memories of an incredibly lady … I could fill a book! Over the thirty plus years I had the privilege of knowing her, Anna taught and modelled to me what it is to love, live in and by faith, care for others and to put others needs before my own. Her heart for the broken has deeply impacted my life and my work… I will be forever grateful for her.
