Roger was a true member of the Merstham community and was a lovely man. To me he was also my best friend's brother. He will be remembered kindly by many people. RIP Roger.

For many years Roger wrote a column in the local newspaper. He would ask questions and collect information, it was always the first column I would read . He knew many people and was always a complete gentleman and good friend. He had a great sense of humour, being a Spurs fan this obviously helped . For his 60th we jumped on a mini-bus from the Limes to Brighton dogs , a trip to remember . He had a strong association with the old Griffin having played for the football team and then taking over as Club Secretary . He always had a story to tell and he will be greatly missed by the local community.

He proved just how well one can continue to live with prostate cancer. May many more continue to do so thanks to the great work of Prostate Cancer UK.

My dear Uncle Rog, so very sad to say goodbye. He was so many things to so many people, loving son, brother, uncle and loyal friend. But it was to the community of Merstham that he gave himself so generously throughout his life. Rest in peace, Scoop. XXX
