Love this picture with Derrick at the head of the table at the San Diego Snipe World's in '97 along with his brother Den. I have a great memory of Derrick being so pleased to be able to buy a San Diego Yacht Club polo shirt at a championship reception 😁

We have known Derrick for nearly 60 years. We competed at Blue Circle SC and at Opens. Derrick was welcoming with a friendly smile and a born organiser of social events. He supported the Snipe Class as Fleet Captain, Class Chairman, Race Officer, SCIRA representative and in attending the socials at our events right up to the Bough Beech Open in July this year. A friend who will be missed. Thank you Derrick.

Very sad to hear of Derricks passing, I had dealings with Derrick through both Blue Circle Sailing Club and with Derrick’s work with Hartley Village.
