Darren was born in 1984 and raised in Wickford, Essex before moving to Leigh-On-Sea. His life was full of love and laughter and not once did Darren complain about the hand he was dealt with. Even over the last few years when his condition deteriorated he was still his lively funny self and boy was he funny!

Darren had a great love of films and theatre, joining Rochford District Players which put a spotlight on his acting and singing, leading him to Italia Conti Drama School, graduating in 2007. His first major acting role was in the horror film Mirrors whilst still a student and he went on to appear in Game of Thrones, Frankenstein Chronicles, Blood Drive, Les Misérables, EastEnders, and in the film Dungeons and Dragons, amongst numerous other projects.

Darren notably won best actor at the Van D’or Awards in 2012 for his role as Danny in Sunny Boy; a boy with a rare skin condition that did not allow him to be exposed to the sun. Darren advocated equal opportunities for all in the entertainment industry especially putting a focus on people with underlining health conditions.

Darren (Dazza in our house) - so so sad you ran out of road before we had chance to meet in person. Really wish you could see all the tributes people are leaving. We know you’ll get the best send off. ❤️
