Eileen and I met in Stratton hospital a few years ago and continued a valued friendship when we both got home, speaking on the phone most days.I thank Eileen for this friendship and will certainly miss her. Thank-you and goodbye. Best wishes to the family. Christine

A valued friend known to us both for around 40 years. We were origjnally neighbours in Hythe, Kent, where she lived with her elderly parents until they themselves passed away. Eileen then took the bold decision to move away with her sister Joan down to Bude in 1995. It was a decision never regretted, for she loved to see the sea and had an even greater love for our 4 legged friends, dogs.

After becoming too frail to keep a dog herself, she was then eager, come rain or shine, to watch them whenever possible playing on the sands. She followed football, West Ham United in particular, and was quite knowledgeable on the subject. Secretly and more recently, she loved Cupcakes too, but then that's a different story and maybe not one for the diabetic Nurse.

Never having been in the best of health, Eileen had one ambition, to live to an age passed that of Win, her mother, and this was successfully achieved last year. Before finally succumbing to her own frailty Eileen would have witnessed West Ham winning a trophy too! That would've certainly made her smile!
