In loving memory of Raymond John (Ray) Ware who sadly passed away on 24th June 2023.

Born in West Ham, Ray grew up in Harrow, where he discovered his love for camping after becoming a Boy Scout. He also discovered a talent for playing the drums when he was a member of a Band. Rumour has it, during a concert, a gust of wind blew his sheet music off the stand and when his friends were trying to gather up the pieces of paper, he improvised the longest ever drum solo!

Ray's love of cars led to him partaking in rally driving. He also enjoyed cruising on the boat down the River Thames, as well as being keen train spotter, golfer, follower of Watford F.C and a fan of the pirate radio station, Radio Caroline.

He worked for a leading brokers in the London Stock Exchange and this is where he met Vivienne, at the end of 1971. They were married in 1974 and ten years later, they welcomed their lovely daughter, Alison. From there, he worked at Ford Tractor Plant and in his later years, Essex Auto Group, until he retired at the age of 69 years.

Remembering our many good 'socials' with Ray, particularly at the Hockley RBL.
Our thoughts are with Vivienne and Alison at this difficult time.
