Dorothy, Mum, Mama, Dofe went by many names to many people.
We proudly mark the end of an extensive lifetime of a lady who had a unique approach to life.
Dorothy was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on June 18th, 2023 at the grand age of 99.
Would she have been bothered that she narrowly missed out on a letter from the King? ... I doubt it!
Dorothy was never the centre of attention and had a no nonsense approach to life yet was always there when you needed her and always an integral part of every family event.
She is survived not only by her mince pie recipe and her fabulous sayings but by an extensive family of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
A woman who famously liked a drink before her meal and always a drink after her meal, but never during! We invite everyone to raise a glass, have a gargle whether it's their birthday or not and remember Dorothy Spendlove.
