In loving memory of Arthur Howard Clark who sadly passed away on 11th June 2023

Debbie Mossey wrote

Uncle Arthur, it’s taken me a while to be able to put into words how I feel. I have memories of you from way back and all of them are good or make me laugh. Mum loved you so very much , as do I. Knowing that you two are together and you are no longer in pain are the only things that make the loss of you bearable. I will forever cherish the memories I have of you, especially this last visit when I was able to sit with you for hours and enjoy your company. I miss your smile, laughter and hugs. Mum always said she was going to have a cup of tea with Jesus when she got there, and I picture her having one with you now also. I love and miss you. Xxx

To Arthur

Reading all the lovely words your family and friends have shared of their memories of of you I find myself nodding and smiling in agreement; kind, funny, caring, a true family man, always helping others, a gentleman and more. You and Jill have always been there for everyone in good times and bad. You have certainly come to our rescue over the years whether it was your knowledge of plumbing, electrics and carpentry or of course just enjoying a good chat and a nice cup of tea sitting in your garden. If Carl ever needed to borrow a tool you'd always have just what he needed and it would appear as if by magic from your tardis of a garage! But it was more than that, a special friendship, 'honorary grandparents' to Hannah and Lucy and of course Bella's second home.

Sleep tight. We will miss you so much.
All our love Helen, Carl, Lucy and Bella x

Our beautiful friend Arthur

As I sit here ,and try to think of words that I can say,
It shouldn’t be this difficult because you brightened up the day.
Your smile it lit up every room
You’d laugh and we’d laugh too,
The world was such a better place cos in it there was you.
Your heart was full of so much love for all that held you close,
Jill, your children and their families of whom you loved the most.
Days spent with you and Jilly were filled with lots of fun,
We’d laugh until we cried sometimes in Cyprus, in the sun.
Now you’ve been called, far too soon , you’re no longer in pain
We’ll raise a glass to Art tonight,
Until we meet again.

Love you lots, always ❤️ Dallas & Neil Xx

Thank you for being such an amazing grandad, I will always have great memories that we shared together, Especially our times on the boats over the years & just spending a huge chunk of my time growing up with you & Nan which was certainly most days, Even if you thought it was hilarious grabbing our feet while we was in bed just to scare us, I have been so lucky to have had many years having you as my grandad & friend even though you was taken too soon, You will always be in my heart and my memories, You are going to be missed but that is such an understatement, I will miss calling you to brag about the formula one races or even calling to talk about work, Kelly & the kids are going to miss you so much also but the kids will also hold onto memories that they will also cherish just as I do, Until we meet again grandad I love you & just maybe you will be a converted red bull fan & I won’t forgot from when I was a child you still owe me a holiday to Florida!

This isn’t a goodbye, it’s more of a see you later.

We Love you Always
Aaron, Kelly, Alfie, Isla & Max
Xxxx

Art, our beautiful friend.
What were the chances of us 2 rough necks from the same council estate in Southend ending up with 2 beautiful caring chick's from Rayleigh who even come from the same road?
Almost like it was supposed to be mate!
We love you so much and will miss you even more.

Such a kind caring chap, always happy to lend a hand.
The last time I sat with Art ,he was feeling a bit overwhelmed, humbled and so very pleased that so many family and friends had taken time to visit, message and send drawings . That was the kind of chap he was....

Goodbye my friend, will think of you often whilst watching the waves .....
