In loving memory of Gwendoline Mary Arnold who sadly passed away on 19th May 2023
Gwen was born in Earlestown in 1927 to Walter and Nancy Moon. She had one sister Audrey who was younger than her. She was clever at school but didn’t pursue her education as her mum needed her support at home. During the war a bomb was dropped very close to her home as the Vulcan works was close by which built train locomotives and tanks.
Gwen met Geoff when she was 16 and they went on to marry in 1949 and were married for 74 years. They both enjoyed travelling and visited America, Canada, Croatia and Spain. During their courtship Geoff had a motorcycle and one night they came off when it was icy - they didn’t tell her mum and dad.
Gwen and Geoff had one daughter Pam and she enjoyed their grandchildren Mikey and Lydia and also their great grandchildren- Sienna, Molly, Emerson and Maisie. Gwen was very proud of all of them. Gwen loved watching football and Manchester City was her team. She will be sorely missed by all her family and was a dearly loved wife, mum, nanny , nanny granny and auntie 💔
