Ron Allen (26 Nov 1933 - 12 Apr 2023)

In loving memory of Ron Allen who sadly passed away peacefully at home on 12th April 2023, aged 89 years.
Ron was Born in Nottingham in 1933 to Cyril and Lilian Allen, he was the younger brother of Ken, who he always looked up to.

He spent many happy years as a young man with his best friend Billy Wilson, cycling and having fun.

He studied and worked to be an apprentice compositor, qualifying before he married his child hood sweetheart Maureen in November 1955. He stayed within the printing industry until his retirement.

Ron was a loving and caring father to Sue and Glyn ensuring they had a very happy family life together. They have wonderful memories of many holidays in the UK and abroad, including the ones spent with very close friends Ken, Jose, Lindsey, Deborah and Mark. Ron was actively involved with the Wilford Youth Club.

After Maureen passed away in 1986, Ron met Sheila at the Dancing Slipper in West Bridgford. Marrying in 1988. They enjoyed they’re time going on holidays and moving into Larkhill Retirement village where they enjoyed socialising with new found friends, neighbours and staff, they were both involved in early decisions at the village such as choosing trees for landscaping and the staff selection board.

Golf was his favoured hobby, playing weekly at Edwalton with friends and family. He also enjoyed photography and keeping fit in the village gym.

He was a very proud loving grandad to Angela, Leanne and Jacque, and will be greatly missed by his loving wife Sheila, all the family and his friends too, as he was such a popular happy friendly person.
