In loving memory of Frederick Jack Stone who sadly passed away on 22nd March 2023.

Fred was born in Garlinge, Margate, Kent on the 4th of December 1931 and passed away at the age of 91 and a quarter in Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham, Kent.

Dad was a strong, determined, fastidious, diligent, humorous, kind-hearted man of principle.

We will remember him as multiskilled and meticulous, as a storyteller and chronicler of his experience of life and as the source of much sage advice.

Dad often described himself as a jack of all trades , master of none but this does not give a true picture of a man whose dedication and hard work enabled him to master a multitude of skills throughout his long life both at work and at home.

His forthright and distinctive character will long be remembered by us all.

He was a husband to Jean whom he missed very much, father to Janet, Margaret, and Derek, father-in-law to Peter, Matthias and Sam, grandfather to Claire with her husband Chris, David with his wife Lara, Colin, Ciaran, Ellie and Rosie and great-grandfather to Teddy and Penelope.

He will be lovingly remembered as Dardar by us all.

His brother Ray with his wife Audrey and his sister Gwen with her late husband Geoff were very dear to him. Fred appreciated and valued their long lives together and the support they shared as their lives evolved.

Throughout their married life Jean and Fred also shared a close bond with Jean’s siblings Betty with Bob,
Roy with Jean and Lorna with John all of whom predeceased him.
They were frequently in contact sharing the ebb and flow of each other’s lives.

'Uncle Fred' deeply valued his many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and very much enjoyed hearing the latest news of their lives and adventures.

Dad was also blessed with close friends who sustained him with a listening ear, advice, laughs and sweet memories. Thank you.

You are welcome to join us at both the church and crematorium services.

We would also like to invite you to join us afterwards at The Robin Hood where we look forward to the opportunity to say hello and share in your memories of dad.

What a beautiful series of photos, showing close family ties throughout. What a handsome man your Dardar was, Margaret - beautiful wedding photos and some gorgeous photos of him ENTIRELY in his zone, dressed for performance and playing or leading beautiful music. I remember band with him - I went there every Monday, I believe, with Helen Ryan and Claire Simpson and he taught us to play the cornet and French horn, the flageolet and how to march in carnival marching bands. Many happy memories of those days. Thank you for sharing all these beautiful photos. Now he is reunited with his beloved Jean and they are both watching over you all. With much love, Pet xxxx
