Joan added a personal touch to HR over the years, she was always readily available to help, available on the end of a phone and would make things happen to ensure the smooth appointment of staff to help provide a clinical service. Her approach and personal touch will be sadly missed in UHS. Thank you for all you have done over the many years to support the whole Trust.

I started working with Joan at the RSH Human Resources department in 1988 and found a hard working, cheerful colleague and good friend always willing to help.
Within the many organisational changes in the Human Resources Department over the years, Joan transferred to the SGH where she became a central and highly regarded member of the Medical Recruitment team. She met and overcame all challenges with patience and good humour.
I will always remember her for her courage, resilience, warmth and her wonderful smile which could light up any room. It is so sad that she was unable to enjoy her new life in retirement for longer and she is sadly missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Joan over many years. She was my go to person in medical personnel. She was great to work with and I loved her sense of humour. Her brilliance was her ability to help us get the outcomes that we wanted when it came to recruitment whilst making sure we followed due process to the letter. A rare talent. She was without exagerration one of my favourite people in the hospital and I was genuinely sad to learn that she had passed away. I will treasure many fond memories of Joan which will continue to bring a smile to my face. She was a rare and special person.
